It’s ourpolicy—in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion—to disable orterminate the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe or are repeatedlycharged with infringing copyrights or other intellectual property rights.
In keeping with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, which you can read atthe US Copyright Office website ,we’ll respond quickly to claims of copyright infringement on Umbel that arereported to our designated copyright agent, identified below.
If you’re a copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of one, you canreport alleged copyright infringements on Umbel by completing the DMCA Noticeof Alleged Infringement and sending it to our designated copyright agent.
When we get your DMCA notice, we’ll takewhatever action we think is appropriate, which may include removing the reportedcontent from Umbel.
If we remove content in response to a DMCAnotice, we may notify the person who saved it on Umbel so they have theopportunity to send a counter-notice. We may also send a complete copy of thenotice to others, as appropriate.

If you’ve gotten a notification that oneof your Pins has been removed for a copyright complaint, it means the contentowner asked us to remove it. If you want us to forward the information from thecopyright complaint notification, just email us at copyright@Umbel.com tolet us know (we may remove some personal contact information).
If your account gets too many copyrightcomplaints, you could lose the ability to save Pins on Umbel, or we may disableyour account altogether.
If you think we made a mistake removing your Pin, you can file acounter-notice. When we get a valid counter-notice, we’ll remove the complaintfrom your account's record.
Note: There are legal and financial consequences for fraudulent or bad faithcounter-notices. Before submitting a counter-notice, make sure you have a goodfaith belief that we removed the content in error, and that you understand therepercussions of submitting a false claim.
If your content is removed as the resultof a copyright takedown notice, you’ll receive instructions about how to file acounter-notice in the email notification we send you. Please note that youshould only submit a counter-notice if you believe that the content was removedbecause of a mistake or misidentification.
When we receive a valid counter-notice,we’ll remove the complaint from your account’s record. If you asked us toreinstate the content that was removed, we will forward your counter-notice tothe party that reported that content. The information they receive will includeyour contact information, which they may use to contact you directly.
If we provide your counter notification tothe party that reported the content, and they do not notify us that they havefiled an action in court or before the Copyright Claims Board to keep thecontent down, we will reinstate the content. This process can take up to 14business days.
Umbel also offers the ContentClaiming Portal, a tool that enables creators to claim their content and decideif and how it appears on Umbel.
Anyone who owns exclusive copyright tocontent can apply for access to the ContentClaiming Portal . We’ll review those applications to see if therights holder is a good fit for the tool. If a rights holder’s application isapproved, they’ll be able to upload their original content and tell us whetherthey want the content to appear on Umbel or not. Their selected enforcementwill apply to both existing matches and future matches added to Umbel.
